Dear St. George's,
I don’t know about you but I am finding it hard to believe that August is just around the corner. Planning for our Fall Programming at St George’s is well under way and I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the call for submissions to the Fall Digest that has been featured in our newsletter for several weeks now.
The deadline for submissions for our Fall Digest is August 23rd.
The aim and goal of our Fall Digest is to de-mystify what goes on in our beloved community and welcome everyone who is interested to participate in the many powerful and life-giving initiatives that happen not only on Sunday Mornings but all throughout the week.
Are you curious about the Guild? St George’s Aide? Sacred Stitches? The Tai Chi Club? Coffee Hour Hosting or the Stewardship Committee?
The list is long (way longer than what I’ve listed here!) and what all of these groups have in common is a shared commitment to our Mission statement:
To actively witness to the faith that is given to each of us as we open our hearts and minds to God,
and to share this wholeheartedly with those who live, work, and study in downtown Montréal
through the transforming love of Jesus and the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
We are all an invaluable part of this vital Mission. As former Archbishop Rowan Williams said in the mission shaped church report from :
Church is ‘what happens when people encounter the Risen Jesus and commit themselves to sustaining and deepening that encounter in their encounter with each other.”
So, please take the time to participate in submitting to and “digesting” this digest which - God willing - will act as a guidebook for how St George’s continues to live into our mission.

P.S. I will be away this Sunday on a planned vacation day and will keep you all in my prayers while enjoying the soothing dulcet tones of many pipe bands.

St. George’s hopes to host a Christmas Market this year, from October to December.
This festive community initiative will help raise funds to support the church, its ongoing restoration project, and other activities. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this festive community project to life.
